Issue 15 – Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice
Or: Claiming the Small Joys While the Big Stuff Sorts Itself Out
I couldn’t help but wonder…
What if the little rituals matter more than the milestones?
Because let’s be honest: the big stuff doesn’t always go to plan.
Jobs stall. Moves fall through. Love stories twist, tangle, and sometimes ghost us harder than a bad Wi-Fi signal. And yet, somehow, we keep going. We keep swimming. (Dory was the real philosopher of our time — Plato could never.)
So maybe the secret isn’t about conquering the “big” things.
Maybe it’s about finding those micro-moments that remind us we’re alive.
Like stepping into your Pumpkin Spice Era.
Pulling on your Lady Di fit — sports shorts, oversized jumper, fresh trainers — and strutting down the street like it’s your personal runway.
Grabbing your local coffee order (bonus points if the barista knows it without asking).
Claiming a spot in the autumn sun, AirPods in, and letting your current soundtrack carry you — shout out to Native New Yorker by Lion Babe / Odyssey for giving instant “main character walking montage” energy.
It’s not groundbreaking. It’s not career-defining. It’s not “30 under 30.”
But it’s a reminder: you are here. You are you. You are doing enough.
We live in a city obsessed with speed, pressure, and achievement. But sometimes the most radical thing you can do is slow down, breathe, and romanticise your morning coffee.
Because life is always shifting. Always rearranging. But the joy? That’s in the pauses. The tiny pockets of peace you carve out for yourself.
So yes — the big picture might still be buffering.
But in the meantime? Order the banana bread matcha (who would’ve thought?), wear the fit, play the song.
Claim your moment.
And just like that… the small things were everything.
